Environmental Management

The Environmental Management Plan (EMP) aims to implement integrated environmental management across economic, social and environmental pillars, providing indicators for the actions taken. All actions are intended to regulate and enforce sustainable practices in sugarcane production management.

The fire awareness, prevention and combat campaign, launched in 2014 in partnership with Abag-RP (Brazilian Agribusiness Association of the Ribeirão Preto Region), seeks to raise awareness about the impacts of fires in rural areas, which affect not only the population, but also agriculture and the environment.

Since then, the initiative has included the production of videos for social media, advertisements on radio, newspapers and magazines, as well as the installation of warning signs on roads with contact details for the nearest plants to speed up firefighting efforts. More than 100,000 booklets have also been distributed to communities neighboring the production units and schools in the region, reinforcing the importance of awareness and prevention.

A booklet was published for rural producers with objective criteria for establishing a causal link, in accordance with Resolution SMA 81, CFA Ordinance 16.
